OUR JOURNEY SO FAR

1971

STÄRKE-AMG IS FOUNDED (CALLED PRECISE PLASTIC TOOLING AT THAT TIME)

The company was founded in 1971 by Manfred Tinney 2 decades after he emigrated to Australia from Germany in 1951. In Germany he worked as a Toolmaker for BMW Berlin, manufacturing tooling and jigs for both the BMW 801 high performance piston engine as well as the BMW 003 Axial Flow Jet Engine, which together with the JUMO 004 engine, ushered in the Jet Age.

1982

GRANT TINNEY ASSUMES MANAGEMENT

Founder Manfred Tinney passes and Grant Tinney ( aged 19 ) assumes management of small mould manufacturing business together with younger brother Terry.

2010

VPG INNOVATION

Formed a new company to commercialise the Rapid Response Clamps. Today VPG Innovation is the Design and Engineering powerhouse that designs and develops / prototypes client as well as internal projects.

2020

COVID-19

Stärke Advanced Manufacturing Group started Supplying critical PPE for front-line medical workers

MCMAHON METAL FABRICATION

A new addition to the family, as McMahon Metal Fabrication joins the Stärke Advanced Manufacturing Group and is now certified to AS9100D

2023

GADAC PLASTIC INJECTION

GRANT TINNEY

Current Chairman, Grant Tinney commences with the business as an apprentice Toolmaker, manufacturing injection moulds

1994

QPE ADVANCED MANUFACTURING

The company was founded in 1994 and have been supporting the Australian Defence Industry since then by providing high end precision machining, fabrication, and assembly services. This business was purchased by Stärke–AMG in 2006 as it sought to diversify away from a heavy dependence on Australian Automotive

US NAVY CONTRACT

Won US Navy contract for supply of VPG Innovation’s Rapid Response Clamp to the fleet. The Rapid Response Clamp has achieved remarkable milestone, with over 30,000 clamps successfully installed into US Navy vessels!
